That painting and basing rally is astonishing. To my mind these two statements cancel each other out: a little too much Zeltbahn and other camo stuff on these guys…because of their distinct M43 and M44 tunics these are more or less only really suited for the closing 6 to 8 months of WW2. |

i like zeltbahns! tho these are not modeled correctly. the "sleeves" are too, i don't know, short? put another way, a zeltbahn is'nt "sleevless", like a tee shirt that someone sleeves off of… great paint work! |

@John lacour — I thought the same thing about the the Zeltbahn as I had never seen a figure (or photo) wearing one without sleeves. But I looked at Stephen Andrew's book on the German Army Grenadier 1944-45 where I learned that the Zeltbahn could indeed be worn "with the arm coverings rolled up under the shoulders (giving the appearance of a kind of camouflage apron." The apparently allowed greater mobility for the arms. That said, I prefer the more usual poncho-like appeance on most figures. |
