That painting and basing rally is astonishing. To my mind these two statements cancel each other out:

a little too much Zeltbahn and other camo stuff on these guys…because of their distinct M43 and M44 tunics these are more or less only really suited for the closing 6 to 8 months of WW2.

Beautiful!!!

john lacour27 Jul 2015 7:35 p.m. PST

i like zeltbahns! tho these are not modeled correctly. the "sleeves" are too, i don't know, short?
put another way, a zeltbahn is'nt "sleevless", like a tee shirt that someone sleeves off of…

great paint work!

Love the tank destruction badges on the figures arm.

@John lacour — I thought the same thing about the the Zeltbahn as I had never seen a figure (or photo) wearing one without sleeves. But I looked at Stephen Andrew's book on the German Army Grenadier 1944-45 where I learned that the Zeltbahn could indeed be worn "with the arm coverings rolled up under the shoulders (giving the appearance of a kind of camouflage apron." The apparently allowed greater mobility for the arms.

That said, I prefer the more usual poncho-like appeance on most figures.
