Love these and will be ordering a few soon, Love the styling, hope they do an enclosed APC version of the GRAV Hauler as well. Thanks a billion Armand for highlighting these |
Twilight Samurai | 27 Jul 2015 8:48 p.m. PST |
They have a Maschinenkrieger vibe, which is a good thing. |

an enclosed APC version of the GRAV Hauler Definitely, but hope it's rough and cube-like, as if an inpromptu field mode. This IS a colony. They have a Maschinenkrieger vibe, which is a good thing. Well spotted, TS! I had the ID in the back of my head, but needed you to bring it to the fore. On the other hand, I've this strange feeling as if the Light Tank were Quar as space invaders… ;->= Doug Doug |

Issue these to the Quar? Doug, yer a genius. ' As an old and shameless fan of SF3D/Maschinenkrieger models, I wholeheartedly endorse this new series from DSG… Now I wanna see a medium tank…. kind of an M4 Sherman analogue that hovers and gets blown up all too easily by the Imperial Terran Marine Corps's Star Tiger II super heavy grav tank… Leland R. These dont match up with the quality of his other products. |

These dont match up with the quality of his other products. Not sure I agree with that: the paint jobs in the photos aren't, perhaps, doing them justice but the quality of the manufacture looks comparable. Not the same sort of sleek design aesthetic, though, I would agree as these link But the design is meant to be very different to fit in with the the whole Maschinenkrieger look John T |

Either way, nobody is doing this aestheitc in 15mm and for that they deserve support alone, personally I think they look superb and are just what I,ve been hoping for for eons, so yes a force is being ordered. |

These dont match up with the quality of his other products. OK, can you share photos with us that demonstrate the difference in quality between these newest releases and DSG's older products?

This one for me would demonstrate it perfectly
Please keep in mind its just my opinion and as such subjective. I would of added these to my collection in a second if the proportions were a little better I love MK and have these for sale link on shapeways that are screaming out for bigger vehicles but I will just buy DSGs Lodavs instead |
Darkest Star Games | 03 Aug 2015 11:42 a.m. PST |
I can understand what Kozak1980 is saying, as these are hand made rather than 3d printed, giving more soft edges and feeling of lacking precision. Now, they ARE intended to have that handmade/kitbashed look, as the whole Colony15 line is supposed to have a retro feel to it in the background and the sculpts. I think that the Ion Age range also has that sort of endearing quality to it. I'm not offended in the least! And if you're looking for more slick sci-fi tanks, I just got word that the Fed. Tiger and Vent. Zirhan LODAV GMBTs have been printed and shipped, along with a new faction's grav tank and grav apc! Should have them in a week or so, and maybe another 2 or 3 weeks to get into production! |

Those remind me of old French 2CV vans, perfect for the Colony type situation where the latest gear is 20 years out of date when it gets shipped out. :) L |
War Monkey | 03 Aug 2015 3:46 p.m. PST |
20 years out of date when it gets shipped out Oh yeah, equipment to old for the regular forces to maintain gets shipped to old colonies on the outer rim for self defense. |

DSG look forward very much to your new tanks BUT if you ever bring out MK inspired designs from 3D masters I will buy them. In fact id be happy to commission them if that is something you would consider. If it is post here and ill contact you. But if its not thats cool ill still get some LODAVs. |

kozak, ever seen a T-34/76 up close and personal versus the too often sanitized scale models? The casting methodology was crude as all Hell to say the least:
Now compare that to a contemporary of the T-34/76:
Personally, these look to me like they are precisely what a backwater colonial foundry would be able to produce as opposed to the sleek and cutting-edge LODAV (which I adore as much as you; just have to finish up the bases I'm mount my quartet of JSDF SNLF LODAVs on and get some photos up on the ole' blog).
As for the new stuff coming, I've been made privy to a sneak peak photo, but I ain't sharin' 'cause I don't want to steal DSG's thunder and spoil the surprise… but they do look gorgeous! Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |

OK. I just took a closer look at these cute lil' critters on the DSG website: link And now I am inspired by the manned turret on the grav light tank to paint up a trio akin to these historical light tanks:
Just add bullseyes I mean roundels! Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net |

Leland Only the French could design 'art deco' tanks painted in art deco schemes, well apart from the Squirrels of course……….. A lotof Sci fi stuff is a bit too clean, prefer the Blade Runner/ Brazil look myself. L |
Twoball Cane | 06 Aug 2015 6:46 p.m. PST |
I see what everyone is saying….they look like sons of thunder armor to me or civ defense force….those lodavs mean business though. Any chance of a sneak peek soon on those apc's and such mr darkest star sir? |

Leon, actually, disruptive camouflage painting is indeed a French invention from the First World War, and by an academic who was schooled in multiple theories of how the human eye perceives color, light, shape, etc., and was familiar with multiple schools of art including (drum roll) *Cubism.* Being an officer in the French Army's artillery, Lucien-Victor Guirand de Scevola got the inspiration to apply disruptive painted patterns on the guns in his unit to try and thwart observation by German aircraft and observers. It worked (and very well apparently), and disruptive camouflage painting was born (and yes, the French were quite keen on elaborate, *artistic* camouflage on their tanks in both World Wars and the years between):
As for the Squirrels:
Why should the raccoons get to have all the galaxy conquering fun?!

Kozak1980: I would love to make a MaK game, the TCI board games from back in the day were pretty cool. And I HAVE talked to the people that work with Kow Yokoyama about a license, and the only thing that is possible to secure at this time is for Wonderfest Japan. 1 day for selling. It's expensive and unfortunately not feasible. But email me at the DSG info email and I can tell ya all about the history of that endeavor… |
