While there are a number of nice resin and laser cut wood SF building available in 15mm. I like to scratch build and have been eyeing various cream cheese tubs and electrical boxes as possible futuristic buildings. I know that some manufacturers and garage kit makers cast ups things like doors, ventilation fans, and other bits to glue slap on such to create some cool looking buildings. What have you done as far as scratch building 15 mm SF buildings and what manufactures create what I have described above. Can we get a list and how happy or not you were with the results. Anything to avoid or learned lessons? Thanks |

Finger and Toe paper models are incredibly useful. Panels, doors, control panels. And no painting necessary. Get parts from Platformer/Hexagon pladtic kits from Pegasus Hobbies. Lots of scrap pladtic can be used for grids, vents, etc. |

GZG makes some. I built a nice, medium-sized, present-day to futuristic office building out of cardboard and paper. Didn't include any bits for it, since I didn't have any, but as mentioned, having some of those would be nice, and probably make them look a bit better and more interesting, in addition to providing some roof-top cover to hide behind. HO scale works for 15mm, so you can use some of the various parts people sell for those. |

Textured plasticard is awesome for this. Evergreen makes a bunch of different industrial looking patterns. Great for putting roofs on your electrical boxes. Then slap on some roof clutter and a door your looking pretty good. Take a hammer to some old electronics to get some pieces you can use on roofs or equipment on walls or sitting next to buildings. |
