Last attempt failed and lost my typing, so lets try again…

What are the relative size of the Star Wars spaceships (X-wing, TIE fighter, etc.,) out there?

So far I know

WOTC Starship Battles (bought off Ebay)

FFG X-wing ships (seen in shops but not bought)

FFG Armada ships (seen online pictures only)

I am interested only in the ships. Only the relative sizes of the ships.

I have rules I plan to use (5150 FC, CC, and SN.)

FFG X-Wing fighters are 1/270 scale, IIRC. The "large" and "huge" ships are scaled differently so as to work with the game mechanics, but look fine with the fighters. A "to scale" Star Destroyer, however, would be on the order of 2 meters long at the smallest.

Some of the old Micro Machines SW fighters are darn close in scale to X-Wing, but it varies.

I've seen FFG Armada ships, but don't know the scale. Obviously, it's much, much smaller than X-Wing, but as miniatures go, I'd say a bit larger in scale than your typical GZG type product.

Thank You, Parzival,

I guess the best answer (the one I was avoiding) is to buy an X-wing (the game) X-wing Fighter (the miniature) and ditto an Armada X-wing fighter.

Line them up next to the Starship battles ones I own plus the two scales of Studio Bergstrom and see which ones are best for my three rules sets.

More answers are certainly desired.

Edit: Micro machines… another wrinkle to consider…

The Armada ships use a sliding scale. The Victory SD is about 1:7000, but the Corvette isonly slightly smaller, so way out of scale. The fighters are all bigger than the Studio Bergstrom fighters, but in scale with each other. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow.

If you go to Starship Combat News star-ranger.com/forum and sift through the message boards you can find most of the information you seek.

No posts were found because the word x-wing is not contained in any post
.

Okay, going to take some extended searching I think…
