Hello. I'm new to the forum and am hoping some of you might be able to answer a question. I recently picked up a bunch of modern 1/600 Pico Armor modern Soviet tanks and am planning on using Fist Full of Tows 3 as my rule set. I don't have the rules yet but would like to get a head start on assembling the miniatures. How should I base the figures to comply with the rules? Do I need to put three tanks on a base (platoons) or base them individually? Also, what size bases are recommended. Thank you in advance for any information. |

The rules say each unit is a platoon. The number of models/vehicles doesn't matter. Do what looks best to you. Note there is an option to play with 1 unit = 1 vehicle. That would require different basing of course. Don't remember the suggested base size. |

There is a free trail version on Wargame Vault. Should have the base sizes in it. |

I currently play FFoT3 with PicoArmor. I mount a platoon on a stand. I use the flames of war stands. For example I take a medium infantry base and put 4 M1A2 Abrams MBT onto it. 3 of these stands is a company. 9 stands is a battalion and so on and so forth! |

I play FFT3 using PicoArmor. I use multiple miniatures per base, usually 3-5 vehicles or 20-40 infantry, depending on real-world platoon organisation. My bases vary from 30-50mm frontage, depending on the number of minis. My rule of thumb is 10mm frontage per vehicle or squad of infantry. There are plenty of photos of minis in action at my blog: tinytanks3mm.blogspot.com.au |
