Took a painting class at historicon and liked the reaper tanned flesh triad. Was wondering if anyone knows the vallejo colors? Can't see to find them in any of the cross referencing charts. |

From my experience flesh tones from Reaper and Foundry tend to be unique. You may be better off just getting the reapers, for confidence out of the pot and so forth. |

I use the tan triads. I am very happy with the Reaper paints. |

I have found the Vallejo basic flesh not to work until it is blended with something else If the tutorial worked for you – use the Reapers. I find them to be a little too close in colour and not to cover very well. That depends a bit on your painting style, and mine keeps changing :) I have found the x-reference charts to get you close, but not close enough for a matching triad Good luck John |

I've found using the triad as its ment with base, mid-tone and highlight doesnt give me the results I want. The Dark flesh triad tends to work the best in the intended method however. So what I do is to help vary up my skins is take the base tone, use that. Use a flesh wash(my current favoriate is Wonder Wash skin) and highlight with the mid-tone. Or use the mid-tone, wash, highlight. Can't help with the names for the Vallejo equivlent, sorry. Good luck! |

Vallejo game colors makes similar paints, start with their dwarf flesh, mix with elf flesh, then straight elf flesh and then mix elf with light flesh or whatever they call it. You can use white too instead. You can use a flesh wash to help the colors, too. Theres a lot of experimenting on flesh you can do and really never get it wrong. I have the foundry flesh triad but the base color is way to dark. |

Thanks for the comments. I was happy to use vallejo flat flesh with GW reikland wash (I'm lousy at faces) but the simple/fast triad technique we learned is almost as quick but yielded much better results by comparison. I'm also trying to get away from mixing paints except for highlights. We'll see how it goes next week when the reapers arrive. |
