I posted under this heading yesterday, and checked that it had appeared on the forum. However when i checked this morning to see if there were any comments it had disappeared. Has it been removed? If so why? If not, what has happened to it? |

McWong73 and vexillia I don't understand either of your comments, and neither are particularly helpful. ochoin thanks for the link. I am still not sure what has happened to the subject. I can connect to your link, but can still not see it on the Napoleonic Discussion Message Board. I raised it on the Napoleonic Discussion Message Board, but I did also cross post. So perhaps it has been removed from some boards? |

I guess the point is that if there is a spelling error in the title (and there is) the topic can be missed by subsequent searches. All they have done is swop the a for an i. hence the light-hearted gag about it getting delated! The snag is that we may have an hour to revise postings….but you only get one go at the title and we have all got that wrong, with a typo error, occasionally. Trouble is, if they now correct this second version, (this one), your link to Napoleonics discussion will go again! |

The original thread now appears on the General Message board. ("The Case of the Missing Thread" has been solved!) |

deadhead Thanks for explaining the joke at the expense of my spelling mistake. The subject has disappeared from the Napoleonic Discussion Message Board, but not (as far as I can see) been replaced by one with the corrected spelling. Surely if the spelling had been corrected the original post would be replaced by the corrected one? GamesPoet Not sure why it should be on the General Message board. I did cross post, but I don't think that it was to the General Message board. I am also surprised that someone corrects spelling mistakes. I have seen many on this forum over the years, and never noticed that they had been corrected, let alone disappeared as a result. |

The spelling in the title was like sand in my eyes. I'm one of many pedants who requested the Editor fix it. And you are complaining that it was corrected????? It's under General because the Editor in Chief apparently felt your thread was spread over far too many boards. He does things like that all the time. |

The only spelling corrections done tend to be in the titles. If you look to the left of the page under the title you'll see any editing done to the post listed there. The editor obviously thought it was a gerneral topic, and that you proved this by the many cross-postings. |

Any definition has to include a term or word that suggests 'insane'. I include myself in any such defintion. |

I have at last caught up with my post. I have always used Napoleonic Discussion as my main board, and did not even realise that there was a Wargaming in General board. Because I had not switched that board on, I could not find the subject. So thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction. I can see that Wargaming in General is the correct board for this subject. I will take care in future not to cross post where it is not appropriate. |
