A couple of friends and I sat down this evening and rolled some d10s to destroy each other's 'Mechs, using the Mech Attack! rules by Armor Grid. Tons of fun! We got two scenarios done in 5 hours, where the last time we played Battletech BTB, 5 hours saw us just nearing the final turns of a 4x4 game. We used the Battletech Conversions found here on TMP: TMP link – based on that post and a bit of back and forth with the designer on the Armor Grid forum, I created some conversion Battletech Record Sheets. I limited the loadouts to 4 weapons per Mech, trying to take into account the overall "flavor" of the Mech from the original 3025 Technical Readout. Everyone thought the game was great! Heat still played a role, the generous rear arc made maneuvering for rear shots important, Hunchbacks and their damn AC/20s still pack a helluva punch, Warhammers overheat, Locusts are just annoying in never dying and it's better to roll high than roll low. It felt like Battletech, but less simulationist and still a helluva lot of fun. Highly recommend Mech Attack! for when you want to just sling 30ft stompy machines at each other. It's definitely become our 'Mech game of choice. |

I'm glad to see someone got some use out of that! Made my day, thanks! |

Awesome! That's good to hear, since I'm a Mech Attack fan as well. Do you have any pics to share? |

I just bought Mech Attack yesterday. I bought it at drive thru rpg for cheap like for bucks; it was on sale. Afterwards I googled converting battletech to Mech Attack and found that link above. Good stuff. I'm glad to hear you were satisfied with the results. I picked up Mech Attack thinking that I could better get someone to play battletech with me if it wasn't an all day affair. How long do you think a four on four lance versus lance game would take under Mech Attack rules? Can it be done in under 90 minutes? |

Definitely under 90 minutes. |

Definitely under 90 minutes, unless you really took your time. I have record sheets for my conversions of the Battletech 'Mechs to MA rules. They follow what ethanjt21 started, but kinda also reflect my views on things. I've got a couple of threads up on the ArmorGridGames forums about it. I should note that these are not all 'Mechs, only what I have painted up so far that I use on my table. However, I have a ton of 3025 era 'Mechs, so they should all appear here at some point over the next few months, as I reduce my plastic/lead pile, a lance at a time. |

@sharkbait – no, unfortunately, we were having so much fun, we kinda skipped that. :/ Maybe next time! |

I plan on using MA for my BT project, which involves scattered BT figures I've picked up over the years and the EM4 mechs, thanks for all the suggestions and conversion ideas. |
