I've been thinking about this for a while now. Is it possible to game the movie Sahara, and if so, how would you go about it? I'm thinking that all of the players should be on one side with the Germans being controlled by a GM. What rules would you use? |

Due to the low unit count on the side of the allies, Bolt Action would be a good first choice for rules. Another good set could also be I Ain't Been Shot Yet Mum, or Disposable Heroes. |

I agree that Nuts would work well. Others would be Chain of Command, I Ain't been Shot Mum, or Disposable Heroes. Bolt Action I think work as well. So you are kind of spoiled for choice it just comes down to which of the game mechanics and systems you think captures what you are looking for. I have often considered do this scenario as well. I own a DVD of the movie and it is one of my go to flicks when I just want a classic Hollywood war movie. And of course anything with Bogart in it is good. |

kallman, have you seen the remake with Jim Belushi in Bogies role? It's actually pretty decent. |

Not yet is it on my watch list at some point as I have heard good reviews of the remake. |

I think it could look awesome and might make for a pretty neat convention game. |

Tom Reed if you'referring to the "Sahara" moovie of 1943 by that fantastic great called Zoltan Korda (every one of his moovies a gem)…there is a net and ready-made way to play it as a tabletop…many years ago i find a dedicated article on the US wargame journal of Midwest Wargamers Newsletter..sorry at the moment i don't recall the exact name as i have all articles selected on my files..but the Editor of this very good publication is TMP menber and maybe he can help you..this above mentioned article contained ready made rules, scenario including TOEs and little map..about 20 years ago we tried it and it worked..including the horrible and sneaky character that, unfortunatly, the moovie asociated with the Italian prisoner :-) |

@ITALWARS, You are thinking of the Midwest Wargamer's Association NewSletter and yes, the editor, Hal Thinglum is a member here. |

did you notice in the remake movie that was filmed Down Under, the M3 Lee is missing the machine gun turret is missing and that it is just a big open hatch? I also did not like that the South African soldier had been replaced for it was not PC at the time of filming. |
