Does anyone know the percentage of high explosive rounds in a standard average midwar Mark 4 ammo load? I know the total load tended to be 80 – 90 rounds, but I cannot find any information about its he/ap mix. |

Probably would depend on which gun it had -- the L24, the L43, or the L48 (tho the latter two might carry the same mix). I would assume that the L24 would carry a higher ratio of HE than the others. But I think it was entirely up to commanders to decide -- probably either company or battalion commanders -- based on the mission and the supplies available. |

Mission dependant? Ideally, probably more likely supply dependant in reality. |
