Any chance anyone knows a company that sells hockey players? Preferably 28mm or alittle larger, not as big as 54mm….. I did find some at Impact Miniatures, wondering if by chance there was another distributor also. Thanks! |

Impact is the only one that I know of. The kaskey ones are a little on the pricey size and are 54mm. I personally ahve a large collection of the McFarlane figures. Sadly, they are no longer produced. I found that the larger figures were better as you are only using 12 figures on the ice at any time. This is my setup from a few years ago.

Yes, agreed, great set-up DsGilbert! Are you using a ruleset with that? If so, what rule system? |

I have been working on a ruleset for many, many years. I feel many rulesets don't really capture the essence of hockey. My version uses an amalgam of heroclix and card play. I try and get it to focus on managing the team on the ice and bench. The teams I have are, Bruins, Maple Leafs, Rangers, Blackhawks, Canadiens, Red Wings, Flyers, Sharks, and Penguins. I have 10 players per team. Here's whare I am today.

I used rod hockey guys on bases. They work fine. I would really be interested in some good rules. I downloaded some simple ones online, but they are too simple. |

Regarding rules: My experience is that the hard part is maintaining the speed of hockey. There's so much action that goes on that it's hard to finish a fake game in the time it finishes a real one. The best I ever came up with played more like roller hockey with bad goalies. (Rush down, shoot. Rush down, shoot, score!) I think you're on the right track with the cards — that turned out to be the best mechanic in my game, too. Basically, I put all the crazy stuff that could happen in a game on the cards, and the players got to play maybe eight out of a hundred during a game. |

All great leads, thanks so much all! GsGilbert, that looks amazing…I went on ebay and looked some up, they were in the $6 USD-7 range each, I shutter to think the cash it cost to do that;) plus only had all star players, so seemed unlikely to get a full team. this is great tho |

Also, I have and idea for rules…I'll have to write them, but the basic bits of the rules seem solid, based on another sports game I played recently. have to playtest them though, you never know till they are playtested. |

I custom painted all my figures. the teams I have are all based on last time the team was in the Stanley Cup. here's where the build is at this point. [URL=http://s1267.photobucket.com/user/dsdibiase/media/Miniature%20Hockey/hockey%20v3%202_zpsevegv1xo.jpg.html]
