Just finished these two: ready for basing for my 'Convoy Project'. They are fiddly due to their small size but fun to work on.

The only modification I made was to remove the large metal 'periscope' stalk and replace it with .010 plastic rod.

There is a lot of grain and noise in these pics but I had to use the Macro Function to get the details to pop.

Nice job Joe – you know how much I appreciate a bit of inspiration and motivation! Keeps reminding me why I need to go for GHQ for my Arctic project though

Dynaman8789: Thanks!

Nick: well, I'm working on 2 Type IX's right now: much easier to modify since the Conning Tower is wider and I can remove/sand down the scopes and scoop out the interior with a micro-bit.

The 'Arctic' is on my list too but first I have to finish a 1/1200 project based on Run Silent, Run Deep (the book, not the movie); linked scenarios forming a mini-campaign.

Thanks for your comments!

Joe
