Stargrunt is designed for 25mm, with a ground scale of 1" to 10 meters. It suggests that for 15mm scale the ground scale should be 1 cm to 10 meters. This compresses the game table quite a bit. I am curious if anyone actually uses this conversion? I play tomorrow's war occasionally but I find myself drawn more to SG2. The scenarios in TW would probably work well with SG but the game scale is undefined. A 3x3 table in TW would convert to a 14"x14" table in SG2. That is pretty small. I have never understood the whole figure/ground scale thing…especially when vehicles are put into the mix. So, what I've some opinions on this. I would love to hear some thoughts…paging Jon Tuffley….. |

Don't change anything. The scale is compressed anyway, at 1cm:10m the figures should be 2mm high to be in scale. Sticking to 1":10m makes the ranges look better in relation to the figures. |

You could easily use a nominally acurate ground scale. So assume 15mm equals 6ft or two yards, you could use a ground scale of 1 inch =3 or 4 yards making a 4x6 ft table = 192 yards x 288 yards if you do 4 to an inch even 5 yards to an inch which is a bit more or a scale distortion would still look good at 240 x 360 yards on a 4 x 6 ft table |

One thing I do like about Stargrunt is that infantry weapons are effective only at certain ranges (depending on the quality). SG2 fire combat also results in lower casualties (usually) than TW. I like TW, but some things just seem counter-intuitive to me. |

As mentioned, I'd probably just use the range rules as is. You could also go with 1" = 5 meters, instead, if desired, instead of the cm. scale. |

I'd leave the ground scale as-written. |

A lot of games that were written just plain look better in 15mm without any changes in ground scale. Laserburn used a single scale for both and it worked fine. |

I'm in agreement with Groo88, Mako11 and Lion in the Stars on the Stargrunts ground scale issue, just use the ranges as they are printed in the book or written on the PDF. A ground scale of 1" to 10 meters would play out and also look about right on a 3x3 or 4x4 table. |
