OK, so based my Warband around R'hllor and have started assembling the figures. TMP link We have the Wizard and Apprentice (200gc) I have the Nickstarter reward Knight (100gc) aka Beric Dondarrion! It makes sense to add 5 more models as both the Wizard and Apprentice and group move 3 models so I'm thinking Archer (50gc) Infantry (50gc) Infantry (50gc) And we are talking the Brotherhood without Banners so Thug (20gc) Thug (20gc) Assembling the Thugs and Archer were easy. The problem I ran into with the Infantry is none of the plastic bodies are wearing armor (padded, studded leather, etc.) That's a shame. |

Remember the climate they're working in! The armor is underneath the coats, etc. they use to keep warm. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. |

The problem I ran into with the Infantry is none of the plastic bodies are wearing armor (padded, studded leather, etc.) If you want better armoured plastic infantry figures that would fit to the setting, you could try the Fireforge Games range of Crusader figures – these should fit sizewise with the Frostgrave plastics from what I have heard. Rant: historically there was no such thing as studded leather armour, and in any it would have been more effective to use precious metal for protection in other forms, such as links for chain armour, rather than studs that would provide very unlikely protection. Presumably it shows up a lot in fantasy gaming due to some authors having examined pictures of brigandine armour (consisting of metal plates riveted between cloth layers) and mistaking the canvas for leather and the rivets for actual protective elements, while missing the metal plates underneath… I think I started once upon time a longer thread about the common presence of leather armour in fantasy. Back to the topic, it should also be entirely reasonable to assume that the models wearing armour actually have clothes over it. And since the plastic set comes with a variety of heads (with and without helmets) you could use those to indicate which models have armour under their clothes: models with helmets have armour, models without helmets don't. |

Remember the climate they're working in! Honestly, the game doesn't require a cold climate. You could easily substitute an abandoned Egyptian city. models with helmets have armour That's what I did |

Yes, I'm using Fireforge's foot sergeants for the opposing warband. I will pick up some FG plastics when Brigade get them in. They look great. I am just finishing my warband, so far a 14-man "pool" to draw from. |

You could easily substitute an abandoned Egyptian city. Then it wouldn't be called "Frostgrave" would it. Maybe "Sandgrave"? |
