Greetings, I have the first four "ECW Scenario Books" from Partizan Press. I do not have their ECW Campaign Scenario Book. My question -- is the Roundway battle scenario the same in ECW Scenario Book I and ECW Campaign Scenarios? Or is it somewhat different due to further research? -- Jeff

Different authors. Steven Maggs wrote the first one, Bob Giglio the second. The second scenario has a more detailed OB for both armies. The first scenario has a rather generic OB for Parliament, no list of commanders with ratings, etc. That is the main difference between book 1 and the rest of the series. Fabulous series by the way; can't make them fast enough for me. Mike D |

Sorry, should have read your first sentence. You obviously know the difference between book 1 and the rest. M |

You might find the English Heritage Battlefield report an interesting read too. You can find it at: PDF link |

Mike D, thanks for the nice comments, and glad everyone has enjoyed the various scenario books. That said, I have enough "in the can" for two more and one more campaign book. I should have had another volume of scenarios finished, but got side-tracked on other projects (writing some articles/scenarios fro WI, got into the RCW, more colonial, etc.!), so I just have to finish playtesting two scenarios (one is Rupert's attempt to hold up Essex prior to the relief of Gloucester, another is the attack on Essex's baggage after 2nd Newbury). When that's all done, then it's edit time and a wrap and off to the publisher (who then has to do maps). So, that means you might see another book late 2015 or early 2016, depending. Regards, Bob Giglio |
