Interesting result, looks like the British side decided to throw the RN in, at least up to cruiser sizes, and it paid off. One of my clearest wargaming epiphanies was playing Avalon Hill's Third Reich, and as the German player, after securing mainland Europe, looking over at those British naval counters and my one German naval counter (which I'd need for transport and supply, not fighting) and realizing the air battles were just to set up the naval battle. Or not set up the naval battle, as the case turned out in the game and real life. |
