….and we're planning several days of celebrations at rehab. If anyone has some Colonial or TSATF specific photos from Historicon, we'd appreciate your emailing them to us at loribrom AT gmail DOT com. We'll get them to him on his special day as he always used to go to Historicon (to game and buy) for part of his birthday. Mom always said it made him easy to buy gifts for!

Thanks to all who have posted their images from Historicon already. Looks like a good time was had by all.

Happy birthday!
I just had a fun not-Historicon Saturday night game of American Revolution TSATF.

Please tell your father Happy Birthday for me. He's responsible for thousands of hours of fun gaming. We have a lot to be thankful to him for.

Winston,

Dad chuckles each time your "vanilla TSATF" is mentioned. He said you understand what he was going for with the rules….

I remember one conversation after a game at Historicon back in the late 90s with Larry. I was wondering why Larry had made camel movement what it was, his answer was what made TSATF my go to game for fun ever since. Anyway his answer was, "Because they had long legs."

So happy birthday Larry and thanks for that piece of wisdom on designing games.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LARRY!!! I am hoping to run a play-test or two or three of my TSATF/800 Fighting Englishmen scenario for the 1879 Battle of Charasiab soon after Larry's birthday, together with a bunch of other diehard TSATF players, in preparation for hopefully bringing the same game to Colonial Barracks V. If we pull off the play-test I will send some pics.

Like Clif above, I have been playing these rules since they were first published back in 1979, so please pass on my heartfelt thanks to your dad for providing a key element -- his rules -- for so many triumphant memories, as well as some cataclysmic ones!

I too wish Larry a happy birthday. Regretfully, I don't have any photos to share of the one time that he and I met when he was hosting a TSATF game at Historicon in 1998.

Happy Birthday, Great-Grandfather !

(inside joke – my apologies to y'all)

I like to think I have the gaming world's most
complete collection of Brom rules – even one or
two unpublished sets (doormat rules, anyone ?)

Happy Birthday Larry! Had a non Historicon Darkest Africa game Friday night and as always had a very fun game. Larry your rules made 8 vet gamers enjoy an evening gaming and was filled with laughs and talk of game memories from the past.

Happy Birthday Larry. Will cherish my medal forever. Every time we run games here in Florida you are a topic of conversation. We think about you always and tell stories. Those of us who "made our bones' in this hobby with your games and rules will always remember. I hope you enjoyed your day.
