Besides the book "Dawn of Battle". What are some other good books on the US Army Italian Campaign? Thanks for the help. |

The two US Army official histories are available online: Salerno to Cassino, Cassino to the Alps. link That's where I always start.(the Canadian official histories also available and very good) "Draftee Division: The 88th Infantry Division in World War II" by John Sloan Brown, who's father was division commander, is not only a very good narrative on the break out from around Monte Cassino but gives excellent detail about forming and training of US Army divisions during WW2.
A few more: Bloody River, Martin Blumenson Crossing the Rapido, Duane Schultz |

I really enjoyed "Draftee Division." Recommended! Ed PS: ever look at the reviews at Stone & Stone? It is a fantastic resource about books of World War II. stonebooks.com Or specifically for the Italian Campaign: link |
