Hi All,
Today I hosted a WW2 North Africa scenario on the first Cigar Box mat I've purchased. The topography printed on the mat was very similar in configuration to the area I wanted to recreate around the towns of Metameur and Medenine, in southern Tunisia. This was the scene of 10th Panzer's attack into the lines of the 2nd New Zealand Division on March 6, 1943, as part of Operation Capri.
Here's my buddy Adam discussing the game [and what we do :))) ] with a few onlookers.
Having moved out of the valley of the Matmata Mountains, the Germans have begun their attack on the Maori 28th Battalion position along the wadi south of Metameur.
6 Pounders and Portees go into action against the Panzers, while the German main body swings further south past the New Zealanders.
Even though elements of the 8th Armoured Brigade would put in an attack against the assault, the Germans would blunt the counterattack and continue their drive through the enemy lines, enveloping the Kiwi defenses and threaten Medenine.
Armor is 1/144th scale, and the scenario was played using my "Battle Tactics" rules system. Very happy with the Cigar Box mat!
