So, who makes replacement sabers? Or muskets? Or not even replacement. Just things for conversions. Sadly a lot of nice figures get bent swords and snap off muskets. I would love to have spares to repair but ran out a while back. Who makes them? |

I have a nice Tarleton, for instance. His saber snapped off, and now he is leading the charge with rather un-inspiring brass knuckles. |

I have a bag with front rank written on. The site has some great examples Only in 25 – 28 mm however. link |

Front Rank do indeed do a good selection in 28mm. The best thing about the recent increase in plastic minis however, for me anyway, is the huge number of spare parts – perfect for repairs/conversions etc. Get yourself a box of new Perry Light Dragoons (you know you want them anyway) – clip off Tarletons hand and glue on a cut down version of the Dragoons hand and saber. It will be much more secure than trying to attach a new blade. I have just done something similar in converting a Mounted Highland officer for the AWI and used a Broadsword from the plastic Warlord Pike and Shotte cavalry! Works well. |

Dayton Painting at one time sold muskets and sabers etc. would not hurt to ask. Sized for 25mm. You could take some thin brass rod, hammer it out ( it will develop a slight curve if hammered more on one side). Snip it off and file/grind a 1/!8 inch tang at the hilt end. Drill hole in "brass knuckle" and super glue the tang into it with a little baking powder (stronger bond/gap filler). Paint to color. The next guy that manhandles the figure should get a good gash for his impudence |
