I've just come across these via googling. I'm aware that the SHQ ancients range were originally Newline. Are the Dark age figures the old Whitecross range or something different? And does anyone know anything about the style/size of the Chinese? |

I'm curious about the SHQ Late Antiquity and Dark Ages figures. They should make the effort to put some photos up, it helps with sales. |

I have also looked at SHQ but the lack of any pictures is a big problem. Ended up buying some samples to have a look, didn't pursue the range further as I didn't want to buy any more samples to see what things looked like. Shame really as I believe it could only help sales get better and the figures are nice looking. |

Their 10mm Vietnam buildings range is quite nice. I've bought a couple of them. But of course, that doesn't guarantee the quality of all of their ranges. |

I wondered what happened to Whitecross, I would love to get more of their early Byzantines |

Freecloud Take a look at the SHQ site – the Dark age range including the Byzantines looks Whitecross game-ish to me. link |

The descriptions of them sound very much like the Whitecross minis. |

I've just checked the SHQ printed (pdf) catalogue. They are indeed Whitecross minis. |

After I sold Whitecross to Will Townshend (who now runs Plastic Soldier Company) he ran it for a while then sold the range to Chiltern. They kept it going for a while then sold them on to SHQ. I've still got the images of the range painted somewhere, I will try and dig them out. |

The Chinese were not Whitecross |

I tried to contact SHQ via an email address in the site but it does not work. |

No pic no purchase, sorry. In this day and age there's no excuse. |

Hobhood4 did you ever get a response from SHQ minitures ? |

aynsley683,no, I've let it go , but I thought I might get a pack of Mongols which is what I was thinking and take a risk. Did you buy from the 25mm Chinese range? |

No I wanted to try and paint a mountain indian army, looked at this company. Asked for pictures, was told last year they were about to change over to a new web site with pictures. I ended up having to 'buy' a small sample of a few figures to see what they looked like. Liked them, bit on the small side but still good looking. Didn't go any further due to no photo's etc. but keep thinking about trying to get this project off the ground especially when I saw your thread with the SHQ title. Guess it goes back on the shelf as he hasn't answered my emails either. |

The 25mm Chinese are small but well detailed. Correct vase type hand gun. The separate 25mm Han range a little bigger use to be Newline. Both are based on Osprey books. |
