With all due respect to Steve Kemp and to Military Modelling magazine, this 54mm diorama from 1976 is a fantastic representation of the Harry Payne painting "Charge of the 1st King's Dragoon and Queen's Bays that ended the mutiny in the besieged city of Lucknow on March 1858".

The basic kits used in the diorama are the 54mm Airfix George Washington and the Airfix French Cuirassier.

The full article can be found in Military Modelling magazine #September 1976 (which cost 35p!!).

As stated, this article and 54mm Airfix conversion was done by Steve Kemp back in 1976. Is Steve Kemp still around and producing such marvellous work?
