I saw one of these gadgets in use at Historicon today and found it quite handy. Any ideas as to where I might get one?

Thanks!

Ask the owner where they got it

I bought something called a Command Caliper back in the 1980s. Haven't seen anything similar since.

Mine came from the original Piquet boxed set of rules. No idea if it is still available.

A great tool though!

I found this old old one online. I am sure litko or those laser-people could fab one up very quickly. If it were made cleverly adaptable with detachable scales useful for a variety of systems they just might sell a boatload. We all love gadgets we don't need!

Looks easy enough to replicate using MDF with small bolt and wing nut to attach the 2 legs. My initial reaction was, "wow, cool, looks easier to use for unit movement than using a tape measure"…but only if they travel in straight lines.
like JS said…do I really need it?
Yeah I do, cause it's kewl…

Bob Jones/ Repiqueone is probably the person to ask- I got mine in a set of Piquet, and iirc from the MW review of it it was produced in Colorado (where Bob is located). His current company is here:

Thanks for the responses, everyone! A friend happened upon a guy selling several at the Historicon flea market and picked up several for us.
