Navcon 2015 is coming in October. Who's planning to be there? What games (if any) are you planning to run? Assuming there are no disasters before that weekend, I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday. I already have the plane tickets. I'll probably just be a player this year (again), since riding 2000 miles on a plane inserts a lot of extra logistical obstacles in my path to running a game. - Ix |

I'll be there (but then you knew that). I should decide soon what games to run, or Ron will start to wonder what's going on. Definitely multiple rounds of "Captains Bold", and perhaps the Corsaires Francais scenario for "Away, Boarders" that I ran at the SYWcon. |

Jeff: is the Corsaires Francais scenario available on your website? |

Yes. There's an AAR of a recent run-through on the Reports page, with all the ship charts and player instructions at the end: warartisan.com/reports |

Was out of town last year, but I'll be able to attend in 2015. MH |

Question – If I were a stranger from New England showing up @ Navcon for the first time to run an AoS game with a set of rules unknown to Navcon regulars, what are the chances I would get any people to play? A naval wargaming specific convention sound great to me, but I'd be a lot more comfortable about travelling all the way from MA if I had some confidence in getting some players. B |

Blutarski, From their website: Event SubmissionWant to run a naval game? Now is the time to submit your events for NAVCON! If you have a larger than average, and/or longer than average scenario, this is your opportunity. NAVCON has the space and the time for such events and is especially interested in accepting them. To submit an event or any questions regarding events, contact the event coordinator: Ron Mazurkiewicz (414) 304-8161 MH |

Well, of course there's no way to guarantee that you'll get players, Blutarski, especially at a con that has on-site, day-of event registration. That's just a risk you take when you volunteer to be a gamemaster. It has happened to me on occasion, at both large and small conventions, but never at Navcon. Given that the attendance there has been showing growth, the odds are good that you'll get players, and I have never observed any reluctance on the part of Navcon attendees to try previously unknown rules. |

Thank you, gentlemen. I'll have a chat with Ron. I run games at various large and small cons and have indeed experienced the unpredictable ups and downs of player participation as described. But Navcon would be by far the most distant venue ever for me and I wanted to get a sense of the nature of attendees. B |

Any idea when 2016 might be? |
War Artisan | 20 Mar 2016 10:08 p.m. PST |
Obviously, there's been no official announcement since it's over half a year away yet, but it's always at the beginning of October, usually on the first weekend of the month. So, either September 30th through October 2nd or (if the staff count Friday evening as part of the weekend) October 7th through October 9th. |

Sorry….obviously didn't know. ;-) As most conventions I have attended the dates are announced for the next year during the current year. In fact some have it figured out two or so years in advance. Thank you for the information though. Well look at the possibility of attending. |
