think it is decent for non-specific media text.

Yes – a calm amd rational summary for the general reader. No mocking; no scare stories. Well done the Grauniad.

Pity the picture of a customer in a GW store playing Warhammer" shows only space marines….

…and the list of other games is a bit narrow…

but minor carping aside it's a reasonable article.

"Players collect forces of miniature plastic models…"

Sad that plastic is the default now. I was enthralled by the heft and significance of metal figures…that was what got me into gaming in the first place.

Good to see a savvy reporter explaining the company and inner workings of miniature gaming so well.
Was very nice to see alternate gaming publishers at the end aswell.

I bristle a bit at the use of the phrase "Warhammer hobby", but otherwise it's a pretty good article.

Decent article, but no mention, even in passing, of historical gaming? Even a sentence about Warhammer having in roots in traditional wargaming?

Ah well, it was positive enough.

Although this article – reviewing the novel Third Reich, in which the AH game features heavily, is illustrated by that same WH40K picture : link

which is very weird.

The book cover did better :

Newspapers/websites often use stock photography from online (or their own) databases, hence the same pictures keep popping up on slightly related subjects.

Sometimes you see an article about primary schools illustrated by a professor writing differential equations on the blackboard, or vice-versa. Happens when the editor uses search keywords which are too general and he or she is not paying attention ;-)
