Was just on the GW website and saw that it seems they've raised the prices on fantasy by nearly double across the board. High Elf Battalion is now $220.00 USD for example.

Anyone want to defend that pricing?

No. I can't even defend the original pricing.
But I am not the target consumer.

The link seems to go to a New Zealand store. I am not certain but the price may be based on the exchange rate.

thanks ken or york… you're right. man they scared me!!! i could just see the jacked up OOP prices coming. I never shop on their site and was just confirming contents with EBAY and didn't notice the little country flag was changed out.

face is a little red but my pocket book is still green! lol

Just got to love those 40%-50% price increases.

Yup, WFB is dead but they will sell you stuff for far more money than what it should cost.

Just got to love GW.

It is a good thing I got most of my High Elves back in the early – mid 1990's.

Yeah, false alarm on that one. It's New Zealand exchange rate. I just checked the U.S. site, and all the battalion prices are the same.

It doesn't matter. The damage is done long ago. Bashing GW on TMP is a classic example of "preaching to the choir."

It's safe to say that the oft negative opinions regarding GW expressed by most TMP members do not reflect those of GW's customers at large.

The two recent times I went to the GW site (promted by AoS curiosity), it automatically set me to Australian dollars. I changed it to US dollars, but it kept changing it back. I think it may be a bug.

And thusly I was briefly convinced the new Sigmarines were $17 USD apiece. grin

Barenakedleadies14 Jul 2015 9:49 p.m. PST

No, not bashing GW, just major sticker shock today. No I won't pay full retail for GW, but when I do buy new I get 'em from the Warstore.

Again, sorry for the confusion.

Yep, that's our normal NZ pricing. Nice huh? :)

Mithmee15 Jul 2015 3:27 p.m. PST

If a tree falls in a forest….

GW would see just how much they can get for it.

:)

GW would send a C&D letter because they think they have the copyright on the word 'Tree'.

Mithmee15 Jul 2015 8:52 p.m. PST

That as well.

Very good point there Brian.

To me, the price doesn't even come into play, because I just don't like the Warhammer figs that much. They are too cartoony for my taste. I wouldn't buy most of them if they were 1/4 the cost.

Well…
NOT raising prices is actually some News :-)
