I have dug into my lady stash of Firing Line miniatures.
This superb line had an all too short life.
I managed to do both the Philadelphia Light Horse and a dismounted contingent.

Now that I have rediscovered painting AWI but based on skirmish washers, I have 19 left. So that's two units.
As if it matters they have the jockey cap, turban and horsehair crest.
Should I do the ultra cool 3rd (?) with white coat and blue facings? The 1st (?) with green and brown? I have both mounted.

Or go for a Legion?

Seriously, I hate these "Tell me what to do Obi Wan!" questions. I'll make up my own mind of course, but just want suggestions.
Doing Armand's Legion will mean I " have to" buy some more dragoons, and I have no problem with that.

I will be debating several possibilities with two units.

One determinant will be what battles they took part in.

Although I've read that the Light Dragoon regiments had dismounted companies late in the war, I've never seen them show up in an order of battle. Lee's, Armand's and Pulaski's legions did have foot units that served in combat in the Southern campaigns. Based on the cap description, Pulaski is probably closest to your figures.

I like having legions in my games

I would personally do the 3rd as it is a lovely uniform, when I come to do my dragoons they will certainly be the first, mounted and dismounted versions.

I'm leaning that way too, for one unit. It's the other one I find intriguing.
The brown/green would be my first choice but I already have the Light Horse with brown/white.

How about a dismounted version of Davie's militia dragoons? They fought dismounted at Charlotte NC in the wake of the defeat at Camden in 1780.

Just a thought…

I paint mine up as the 3rd, a different color of coat and makes them stand out on the game table.

Get some King Mountain Dragoons and paint them as the 3 rd. They look cracking!!

I'd start with the ones that don't have any paint on them already, then work your way backwards according to how happy you are with previous paintjobs.

I think I'll go with the 3rd with white/blue.
Since both Armand and Pulaski had blue coats with red facings I think I will go that way for the second.
