There are Wings At War sets for Vietnam and the Falklands, but nothing more recent than that. Moving up in complexity, Air War C21 is my go-to set. There's a free sampler version so you can give it a try and see if it suits. link |

Thanks Dom. Iv got the C21 rules but they seem a bit complex. Would love a set that has movement templates like Wings/At/War. Is there any likelyhood of them updating for modern aircraft ? |

MiG Hunter and Mach Speed Hunter by Polaris Games might work. You can get them as a bundle or pick by period, Mach Speed Hunter is for newer a/c. link |

If they do to historical air wars what they did for the X-wing thingy I'd be ultra hyper about it. Cheers |

Clash of Sabres is good for post-WWII – early 1970s, and uses curved turning templates. Play is in 3D, so a bit complex (more so than C21), but you can ignore 3D if desired. |

I like Clash of Sabers as well. One plane per player but the rules play along well. Check Your Six – The jet Age is another set good for up to the early 80's. |

Zargon X-wing thingy is not done by Wings AT War please see the previous discussion TMP link which should clear up any confusion without a repeat of the acrimony. ;-) Fatman |

You can run a pair of jets, in formation, with Clash. Simplifies things considerably, at least until the firing and heavy maneuvering starts in with earnest. |

Yes FM this I know, having both WOW and WOG myself and having enjoyed them many a time I'm saying the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars game system which I played a while back ignited my imagination to it being morphed in various air warfare genre, to me although WoW and WoG play to lots of fun the system is clunky to the X-wing game. Just saying my wishes out aloud. Cheers happy gaming |

I plan to use the Wings at War rules for the Ogaden War once Dom gets around to Ethiopian roundels (hint, hint!). You can use Migs (17s, 21s), Il-28s, Canberras, Tigers, Sabres, etc. The Thud Ridge rules would work nicely. |

C21 are about as good, and simple/streamlined as decent rules get, so recommend them. |
