Several sets of Macedonian cavalrymen including Companions and officers as well as some peltasts and hypaspists are available in 28mm from Crusader Miniatures.

My only complaint is that you can't choose the pose(s). When building up units of pike, I prefer them to be with pikes upright, just for handling and storage purposes. By inserting random selections into each pack of 8 minis, it means I have to worry about how I'm going to form up those units, and how many extra packs I'm going to have to purchase to get the poses that I want. For peltasts, missile troops, and such, I don't mind a variety of poses. Same for cavalry. But for the heavy infantry, I prefer to have the minis in each unit in the same pose. V/R |

TKindred, good news if you're interested in the Crusader Miniatures Macedonians – their phalangites are only available in Pike Upright poses (and the same with their classical Greeks too). The hypaspists are a different story, with none of the current ones 'at rest' – they look to me like they are meant to be equipped with a hoplite-style one handed spear rather than a sarissa. |
