Using Ripper Street and From Hell as my sources when I did mine I used: Base: Vallejo Game Colors – 019 Night Blue #VALGC019 Wash: Secret Weapon Blue Black Highlight: Reaper 09055 Breonne Blue Belts and boots were done in black, cant remember the excate color I used for buttons and the helmet shield. And I need to paint on their white service strips. These are basically the same color I used to paint up Naval troops from the same period. But anything blue, almost black should work fine. |

Victorian Police in general – blue so dark it was often described as black. Black leather, silver buttons and buckles and other metallic trim. Some Mounted Police had a mix of black and white/buff leather belts, bandoliers and accessories. Hats started off as 'stovepipe' top hat style (strong enough to stand on to look over fences was a requirement of Robert Peel), some forces adopted a variety of other military headgear such as kepi or pill box hats before the general introduction of the Prussian Picklehaub, known to most today as the 'Bobby helmet'. |
