Just did a brief post on the latest advance of the river terrain boards for my 1879 Second Afghan War Battle of Charasiab terrain layout. Here's a sample pic:

Chick from bengal…I was joking. Most rivers are never blue. |

Excellent work MG- as I've said on a few different fora, the stream sections look great and are exactly the colour I would have gone for. Darrell. Thanks everyone, your positive comments are very much appreciated! Chick, thanks for sticking up for me, but when I first read his comment I figured Jcfrog was joking -- and Jcfrog, thanks for confirming that! Just finished pouring another 12 ounces of mixed resin and hardener into the 6'x2' Kabul River board. Here's a preview, early in the curing process and long before "agitation" results in some river current undulation to the surface…

Once I even wondered why not put real water…. At least the cat would have been less adventurous on the tables at that time. |

Hah! Jcfrong, a few "civilian" (non-hobbyist) friends of mine have suggested using real water also. I do hope you locked your cat out while the resin was still curing, for both your sakes! |

The Kabul River has cured, pretty well I think. The colour tint may be a little bit too heavy/solid, but overall I think it looks pretty good…

I never did anything like you, though at one point thought about doing it. Had 1/300 irregular ponds, and others filled with water and another plastic vacuformed river too. I do remember the astonishment of the fury friend when she put her paw on it. |

Oooh, very nice work, Mad Guru!!! I'd love to play on it, even if you are about 10 years too early for my favorite "shenanigans in Baluchistan" (the Pathan Revolt of 1897). |
