"I've been quietly optimistic about this movie. Man of Steel, whilst getting lukewarm reviews, was actually a pretty good Superman movie. It received a lot of negative feedback for the level of carnage wrought on Metropolis but I thought it was pretty representative of what would happen should two super humans decide to knock seven bells from one another. I also think Henry Cavill did a top job of portraying a character many think is quite bland and uninteresting. Sure there were things I didn't like about the movie and sure there was some casting question marks but overall it was enjoyable enough. I've also been vocally confident about Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight. He's a massively underrated actor. Yes Daredevil was but he's the first to admit it. Equally an actor is only as good as the script and the direction. I didn't like Christian Bale. I expected him to do the job but, for me, he didn't deliver. His Batman came off as a pouting, entitled child. Nothing of the cool, calculating, genius, master detective I know from my large (and growing larger) Batman comic book collection. Ben Affleck is a huge comic book fan and, specifically, a big Batman fan. Which means he understands the character far better than someone who does some reading in the interests of researching a character. In Bale's defence he was let down by Nolan's determination to make Batman ‘real'. Which meant bulky ill-fitting suits that prevented fight scenes from being anything other than awkward brawls. Also, little known fact, the hats (they weren't cowls dammit!) were so tight in the Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises that Bale couldn't breath through his nose…" From main page link Amicalement Armand |

Somebody suggested that Warner/DC will continue to tweak the films until they get their cinematic universe exactly right, with a proper Batman League, featuring Batman, Flying Batman, Underwater Batman, Boob-Batman, Green Batman and black cyborg Batman. |

So in the first movie Pa Kent tells Clark he should let people die rather than reveal himself as Superman, and now Ma Kent is telling him he owes humanity NOTHING. I can't even begin to tell you how utterly WRONG this is, and it has soured me on DCs movies completely. The film makers have no idea how to deal with these icons… |

I might go see it but I'm not a DC fan I'm a Marvel fan first and foremost because at least with the Marvel films they know how to treat their icons. |

One reason I prefre Marvel is that nearly all of their heros have limits and or flaws. Also Marvel Bad Guys seem to be the ones with powers likes Supes |

Marvel publishes Soap Opera and DC publishes Mythology. The movie attempts were failures on both sides until the movie makers stuck to the story-telling mode of their specific source material. What bothers me about this movie so far is that it implies that the movie JL will be formed as a Superman Containment Group. |

Perhaps that is so his opponents can't pull a Mike Tyson on his, Cyrus. My money's on Batman. |

The film makers aren't content to eff up one great character; they're gonna eff up both of them. I'll definitely take a pass and wait ten more years for someone more talented to reboot Supe and Batman. |
