Fine Piers, I applaud your painting, as usual, but wish they had been early/mid war rather than late war

PiersBrand12 Jul 2015 3:19 p.m. PST

Wouldn't be surprised to see early FJ follow…

green beanie12 Jul 2015 3:30 p.m. PST

are these one piece items?

PiersBrand12 Jul 2015 4:32 p.m. PST

Yep those are.

Bellbottom13 Jul 2015 2:47 a.m. PST

Yes I thought that too Piers, not much to change, MG42 to MG34, get rid of FG42, lose the chicken wire helmets, and possibly some knee reinforcements.
I notice that your para's are 'gloveless', however quite a few pictures show them with gloves, is that just personal preference?. BTW Piers, can you ask them to include some drop canisters with the early war lot please?.

PiersBrand13 Jul 2015 4:10 a.m. PST

I just paint them gloveless as it allows people to see where the hands are easier in photos. These are painted for the box art image so I have tried to show off the detail and the figure as best as I can to give people an idea of the figures.

With regards early war I have already submitted research material on jump pads and canisters to the design team, but it will all depend on what room there is on the frame at the end of the day.

Bellbottom13 Jul 2015 6:00 a.m. PST

Well done Piers, and ask them not to forget the shaped charges and flamethrowers, otherwise they'll never get into those casemates

Redroom13 Jul 2015 6:28 a.m. PST

I like them a lot

PiersBrand13 Jul 2015 6:33 a.m. PST

Flamethrowers done… Will have to see on the shaped charges but there may be room on the heavy weapons frame to replace the mine layer with a shaped charge team for Early War…

I will mention it when its underway. No promises though… Im merely the freelance lackey who offers advice!

Bellbottom13 Jul 2015 7:27 a.m. PST

Yes, but with more leverage than us, many thanks Piers

PiersBrand13 Jul 2015 7:51 a.m. PST

No probs matey… Will try my best.

Just been looking at the 15mm British Airborne renders…

Skarper13 Jul 2015 9:18 a.m. PST

OOOH – STOP TEASING PIERS…..British Airborne….

Anyway – amazed what they [and you] have managed in 15mm.

Bellbottom13 Jul 2015 10:55 a.m. PST

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGHHH! Please, do something different. I know it's got to be commercial, but please, Dutch, Belgians, French/Italian colonial, 14th Army, Japanese etc ad nauseam?

PiersBrand13 Jul 2015 12:12 p.m. PST

Given how much a plastic frame costs to tool, commercial is the key word im afraid.

Not sure plastic Dutch would recoup the costs… but Italians and French… maybe.

Early war British?

Fatman

normsmith13 Jul 2015 2:15 p.m. PST

Piers, will we see them in 1/72?

PiersBrand13 Jul 2015 3:03 p.m. PST

Norm, not these sculpts as they dont work when scaled up sadly, too much infill.

But plans are afoot for some new PSC 20mm figures…
