@45thdiv, the Conte sets are polyethylene, not vinyl: If ONLY they were vinyl, vinyl accepts many glues beautifully, including…. vinyl cement! But the glue he's talking about may actually work on Conte. Maybe not. Good luck, give it a try! |

IMPORTANT – There is some fine print on the tube itself which says; "won't work on silicone, EDPM and similar rubbers, or on Polyoiefins such as Polythene." It also says that maximum bond strength occurs after 48 hours. |

Almost nothing sticks polythene satisfactorily except hot glue and – for figure work – that's taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut. I wonder if there would ever be mileage in someone making a small modellers style hot glue gun. Something the size of pen with a rechargeable battery that takes just a smaller diameter stick but with a very fine (maybe pin fine), pen nib style applicator for small scale sticking? That'd be a great a thing if it could be made to work. Even the smallest glue guns are awkward, pistol shaped monstrosities: great for sticking figures to bases and other big stuff but not something you'd want to stick an arm onto a figure with! John T |

John, I have had a lot if success with the two part superglues – primer and glue (in fact, the primer seems the key – any superglue after that works fine). That, and pinning if necessary. And I did wonder about this new glue – seemed too good to be true |

Interesting Marc: thank you. What brand do you use? John |

Have to look. It is the standard UK superglue – Loctite probably. I get it in my local diy shop. The primer has a felt tip applicator to stop it evaporating too quickly. Pictures on web show a bottle and brush, but it is quite volatile so I guess that didn't last too long. Would love to get a bottle though for those places the pen can't reach |

Thanks all for the Conte plastic figure glue. I will give "goop" a try. I take it I should be able to get it at my local home improvement store? |

Marc – thanks 45thdiv – goop: I had to import some from the States via the wonders of the interweb. John T |
