I like them too. Old School is having more and more appeal to my as my time and space become more of a commodity. You seem to have hit a nice balance.

Are you using 12 soldiers for your light infantry regiments? I see 24 for your regular regiments. This could make napoleonics fun again without all that gd drama and page turning. I see your quarter bras battle, oh man I wish I could have played that. How many regiments are you using, I'm thinking around a dozen, I left a post on your blog asking the same-same. 12-15 units not counting cannon would seem ideal……….and affordable………

Hi Clay,

12 man light infantry Regiments. Cavalry and line infantry were deemed as Brigades. Line infantry at 24 figures and Cavalry at 12 figures. A gun unit is 4 figures and a gun.

This was a stylized game. All units were represented as roughly brigades but behaved like battalions/regiments as they could form square and skirmish order. I did this so as to be able to play out the whole battle but still capture the feel of Napoleonic tactics. It worked quite well. In essence, it was a toy soldier battle. Good times had by all!

Thanks for the kind words!

John
