Only a few would say that. Some correctly would say, " There ARE no beautiful women in the hobby." Both are a dangerous statements to make in mixed company and include a unnecessary adjective. The most accurate statement would be that there are very, very, few women of any sort in the hobby. Attendance at any convention would supply the answer as to why.

In this case, we are also talking about France which is always unique, and has never lacked for attractive women. BTW, she also runs the company! (Is this the face that launched a thousand kits?)

"Were" maybe. The broader gaming hobby has had female artists since the 70s, well-known and prolific female sculptors since the 80s, and acclaimed female painters since the 90s. At least two of those painters are gorgeous.

The real rarity has been players outside of RPGs.

Maybe the answer lies in the men in the hobby, more than the women.

While cosmicbank has a point. I've seen some very attractive ladies showing up at my favorite gamestore for the past year, or so. Life is good. Pretty geeks are great.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

Beauty is a overwrought term.

More accurately-Intelligent and Lovely or Painfully Bright Grrl that rolls better than me.:)

I think we have a winner.

(I would only add that providing instruction manuals with bars of soap and cans of de-oderent might help.)

The ladies tend to prefer RPG's because the RPG companies actually acknowledge that they exist.

Exceptions exist of course.

GypsyComet08 Mar 2016 11:44 p.m. PST

Those exceptions are increasingly CCGS and Boardgames. The FLGS has a board and minis night on Wednesdays, and while the crowd still skews male, it *only* skews. There is nothing token about the female presence.

I've seen some beautiful ladies at the Aerodrome tables I've played at. Often times, they can fly circles around the rest of us.

I'm married. Women everywhere are not my concern.

There no rule about not checking the menu once your eating your meal.
