How do the wizards of the coast prepainted minis compare to the Imperial Assault minis? Are they compatible size-wise? How about sculpt quality-wise? Thanks. |

Eventhough I've only seen pictures of the Imperial Assault minis I can't give a real comparison but from the pictures I myself would'nt buy them. As for the WOTC figures these I really like and having bought ALL the figures from ALL the sets I can say that the sculpts of many of these figures are very good. I know there's a bunch of bad sculpts that WOTC did and I wish I didn't have them but the bulk of the figures are very good sculpts indeed. My one big complaint regarding WOTC is that they naver made certain characters that wouldn't been a big hit to people. |

I think the Imperial Assault miniatures are much better than the WOTC ones I have. But I still like the old West End Games Star Wars miniatures the best. Michael. |

The Imperial Assult and the WOTC are the same size. |

Chrach7 I too own a huge collection of the WOTC Star Wars figures and I also bought Imperial Asssault. The IA minis are very close in size ( remembering that that WOTC figure scale changed drastically over the course of the line) and easily compatible. While they are unpainted ( they look great once painted, BTW) they are, in my opinion, superior in every way to the WOTC figures. Scale so far is consistent, quality is better and figures have life like anatomy. Detail is crisper as well. Although you pay far more per figure, I say they are worth it.. |

My one big complaint regarding WOTC is that they never made certain characters that wouldn't been a big hit to people. Which ones, Captain? I'm just curious. I have a sizable collection of the WotC minis (though I sold off a lot of the prequel stuff). I haven't looked too closely at IA (it's a clear & present danger to my wallet), but I don't doubt they're nicer. There has been a serious tech-leap in plastic minis since then, and even "paint 'em or don't" boardgame minis are looking great! |

Okay here's a few that WOTC NEVER made: Boss Nass Watto Poggle the Lesser I'm very lucky to have these 3 which were custom made. I also know that several Jedi and Sith were never made and other figures which I can't think of right now. But it's a mute point since WOTC don't make the figures anymore but as I said it's a sore spot for me. |

There doesn't seem to be much pose variation in the "IA" line. WOTC had many poses for the same troop type… |

That was a good thing for the WOTC figures which I still like to this day. It was nice to have various poses for Stormtroopers,Rebel Troopers,Clone Troopers and many others. |

I have both types. The Fantasy Flight people don't match up well, but the probe droids work in my opinnion and I have used the scout walker as a wookie hunter. It is much shorter than the Wizards of the Coast AT-ST |

Redcoat 55 WOTC did make a Wookie Hunter AT-ST were you aware of that? |

That is what gave me the idea. The Imperial Assault At-St is shorter than the WOTC one, but it matches up well as the cockpits are about the same size. |
