I'm planning on mounting some plastic naval ships (Axis and Allies War at Sea) to clear plastic bases. What would you recommend as the best adhesive for this purpose? |

The best as far as not leaving any visable residue would be model aircraft cockpit cement. It's specifically designed for glueing clear plastic. But I'm not sure if it will be strong enough. You would have to try it out. |

Maybe drill and pin may be a better solution. Many glues will cloud a clear acrylic. |

Dave and Mila at Pulp Alley store.pulpalley.com use a very small amount of CA glue ("super glue") to adhere the feet of their figures to clear acrylic bases. It seems to work without any clouding around the feet of the figures. Jim |

White glue is your friend. |

Elmers makes a clear "white" glue that I've used before on clear bases. It holds just like regular white glue. |

If you experience clouding from the adhesive, you can try to brush Future floor polish onto the area, let it dry thoroughly and seal the miniature with your topcoat of choice. This has worked for me when I have had spray clear coat cloud up due to high humidity. |

Maybe link though I have had issues if I get too "more glue is better" crazy. |

White glue – or 'PVA' as it's known in the UK. I've used it on painted based and if you texture it by forming it quite thick and into a wake shape it dry-brushes with white really nicely. I should imagine this would work just as well, if not better, for clear bases.
