DC: The Joker, as written by Dennis O'Neill, and later given life by the voice talents of Mark Hamill. What a great character. Marvel: Viktor Von Doom, aka Dr. Doom. Over-the-top Shakespearian megalomaniac bordering on melodrama, but it works. Runner Up: Dr. Otto Octavius, aka Docto Octopus, aka Doc Ock. |

The Walrus. "Woo woo! I do have the proportional strength of a walrus! I do! And just like uncle told me to--I can engage in mass destruction! I love mass destruction! Its just like driving my cab, only better! I bet I could be the best mass-destructionist in the world--or pretty near! I am the Walrus!"

Ozymandias. Or is he an antihero? Antivillain? Anyway. Among the classic supervillains, it's difficult to beat the Joker but like all classic supers, he's been through so many interpretations -- some really great and other cringeworthy to say the least -- that the name's become more of an umbrella term than something denoting a single character. |
