I've been inspired by KniazSuvorov's work on 1:4800 ships – so much so that I'd like to get a few and see how they paint up – see the link, if you haven't already – beautiful work! TMP link Looking at Shapeways there seems to be a real paucity of Royal Navy ships out there – I could only seem to find the Queen Elizabeths, a couple of ships that were never built (e.g. Lion) and some lend-lease destroyers. As there does seem to be a reasonable collection of Italian ships, what on earth do they fight against? Some of the Mediterranean battles were quite large affairs which would lend themselves to this scale but the ships just don't seem to be available. Anyone know if/where I can get RN minis? Cheers, Nick |

There are some of the E&F class, C&D class Light Cruisers, and other ships… also CinC does a number of RN ships in their 1:4800 section. Decent if not quite as detailed as the newer stuff. There are some ships missing, but between these two sources, you can field a lot of what you need. |

Another source is MY miniatures link Some sculpts are so-so and his ordering policy is a pain but he does RN. Since you are in the UK the gripes of those of us in North America may not apply. |

Yes, C-in-C is your best bet… for now. Their Royal Navy and Kriegsmarine lines were what inspired the various Shapeways sculptors to make all the other navies. They're also so cheap to buy that no one has yet bothered to produce 3D models to compete. Only now that most of the previously-unavailable stuff has been modeled, people are starting to do RN and DKM in 3D. |
