Just completed this platoon using the relatively new Pithead 10mm model link A nice model and good value as all Pithead models are Steve |

IIRC, only the 9th AD grouped their Pershings in platoons. All other ADs that received any spread them out more. (1 per platoon.) |

Nice models – Interesting to see the hollow turrets with the pin as an alternative to the solid Pendraken turrets – do the pins always line up or do you have to do any work on either the hole (to take the turret) or the pin? I also liked your review of W1815 – interesting. I have it, but have not done anything with it. |

As usual nicely done. As you point out Pithead scales nicely with 1/144th being on the bigger side. Part of the problem when we use terms like 10mm and 12mm instead of stated sizes like 1/144th and 1/150th. Always look forward to your contributions and appreciate that you take the time to post pictures of comparisons like the Pithead model with the resin one. |

Nicely done Steve. I also checked out your review of "10mm" manufacturers- really helpful, many thanks for taking the time to do that. |

Hi Steve, just curious, I have mostly Arrowhead minis and looking for some additions Jeff doesn't yet do, would Pithead be of similar size, not fussed to the exact mm but don't want a massive difference. Mike |

Apologies for tardy reply, off in Iceland and just managed to login on my tablet normsmith – the pins all align fine as they come. The holes need a quick run through with a drill of the right size, not to widen but just to remove flash in some cases. Initially I thought it would keep falling asleep in the first off when picked up or knocked but it all seems fine for actual play unless you are pretty careless. More of a risk that it won't line up if drilled out and a brass rod put in which is why I stopped. Williamtheconker – Pithead compare pretty well on the whole to Arrowhead. They are a bit smaller if right next to each other but not by much and on a games table not at all noticeable. Whereas Pendraken are usually more obviously smaller. My post on Sherman comparisons shows how they compare (easiest to find from the WW2 summary page). The main difference was the turret and he has redone all the Sherman's after my post (can get them with a commander and stowage for 40p extra now – I got a few examples from different nations and will do a post on crew figures generally in a few weeks when I am back home) Steve |
