Here are some more conversions using the new Perry British light dragoons and some other bits and pieces. I love all of Alan Perry's extensive French range of "hangers on", ADCs etc. I've given up on anything similar coming along for the British so thought I'd try and make my own. First, a hussar orderly watering the horses
a mounted Rifles officer
and two standing light dragoons – an officer and a bareheaded orderly serjeant

Excellent figures and excellent conversions. These figures have so much character. This really is a marvellous hobby. |

Even better than your earlier work on the RHA. Some real thought gone into these. The Rifles officer should not have sword in his hand…it rusted to the scabbard I gather! I love the cavalry on foot. Until now (but for Perry French Dragoons) nothing in plastic. Genius here |

That is awesome Lord Hill! I have always wanted to make a mounted light infantry officer to depict the duel between Marbot in Portugal. I am going to use a little artistic license and hope it was a rifles officer! He never says exactly which type of officer he killed. Could you tell me what parts you used to create this figure? It seems he was also jumped by two Hussars as well! I believe Marbot's shako is on display in France with the sabre cut he took to the shako. Michael |

Even better than your earlier work on the RHA. Some real thought gone into these. Yes indeed, as with your earlier post, yet more (HEIC) inspiration… |

Thanks for the kind encouragement everyone! Deadhead – good point about the sword, when I do a figure for Captain Kinkaid I can perhaps have him trying to wrestle the blade from the scabbard Marbots – the Rifles officer is the simplest of all the conversions, all the parts are from the Light Dragoon box except the Rifleman head and the pelisse from the hussar box. No cutting or hacking required! |

Ditto accolade to you LH well done sir, plastics are a wonderful staring ground to so much more than just what's on them spruces. Cheers |

Oh I have only just noticed. The sword holding with the left hand that, of course, is always moulded into the torso to hold the reins. NOW THAT IS CLEVER! I have always given up on the left arm of cavalry conversions, but suddenly I see it holding a carbine to load, reins, a foaming stein………..genius! |

Cheers deadhead, I'm glad someone noticed! |
