15mm and 28mm Fanatik07 Jul 2015 12:56 p.m. PST

I got out of DUST Tactics/DUST Warfare last year, but for those interested Miniature Market is offering their DUST inventory at great discount:

Even if you don't play DUST you'll find these suitable for any 28mm WWWII games.

Thanks for the heads up ordered some tanks for my WWWII games

Bravo Two Zero07 Jul 2015 5:02 p.m. PST

Thank you for the heads up. The last sale they had in May was how I got into DUST and my family likes it. Easy to paint models, cool story line, ability to use just about what ever you want, make it nicely modifiable. We got Snaptite Shermans to use extra Turrets to make use of everything.

Guys this thing is really not dying out. There are new releases slated in the coming month that only add to it. You can make your own Japanese by using Red Blok from At43 and Warlord Japanese heads. I made British by using Warlord heads o the various allied units. Really a lot of Fun. There are Japanese Zombies out there so you could easily swap out the German to Japanese. Tweak some suicide squads and we are off to the races. My son wants the first Japanese DUST army.

Thank you for listening to my incoherent rant.

Ok, but what scale? I think I have seen 1/35 and 1/48… but not 1/56?

tnjrp07 Jul 2015 8:44 p.m. PST

The gaming pieces for Dust Tactics/Warfare are supposed to be 1/48 IIRC. They fit reasonably well with other realistically proportioned ca. 30mm miniatures but not so much thicker and shorter stuff like GW. Some shots with a scale ruler included here:

These are a completely separate issue from the very few pieces done for "real modeler" that are indeed officially 1/35. Haven't seen any IRL so can't really say.

Does anyone know how tall the MCW M3 walker and the Medium Panzer Walker (Ludwig) are??
My Google-fu is failing me.

Thanks!

Just ordered a handful of stuff! Can't resist a sale!

Lion in the Stars09 Jul 2015 1:36 p.m. PST

The DUST infantry models are taller than most 28mm. The vehicles are fine. But if you've been buying the Tamiya and Airfix 1/48 infantry, you're golden.

I'm looking for a much cheaper proxy for a Warzone Resurrection Capitol Orca Walker ($50USD) because I don't like it that much and I'd have to do massive amounts of conversion work on an already expensive model.
The Prodos store says that the Orca is 120mm tall and goes on a 100mm diameter base.

Edited to correct the price and to add a link to a discussion here on TMP about the things that bug me about the model.

Our club got into DUST from the last sale in May, it really is a very good game – will load up on another nation now I think.

As others say, those models are good for lots of games – I got SSU as I think a lot of their kit is also a bit "Orky" ;)

The models are "heroic scale" 28mm, manufacturers who make known larger models work. Thanks for the heads up re Tamiya nd Airfix 1/48

I have tons of Dust stuff. I love the models and I love Dust Warfare, the rules we use.
Just be aware of how Dust Studios and Battlefront have handled the Kickstarter they ran and thus can be expected to handle customers in future as well.
