I'm going to make joseph napoleon regiment for my 1813 project

I've settled on front rank reenforcement packs. But they come in packs of six.

Two elite figures on each end? The rest fusiliers and command, but tgat won't do with a 3 pack order.

I would have liked to use calpe, but all french are in greatcoats. And i want to actually paint the uniform to get the white jacket and green facings.

Front rank fits the calpe style, but i much prefer the reenforcement over the original line, but they come in packs of six. I vould just buy a second fusilier pack and it would all work out. But if i do the order will go past the limit and 25% import tax, plus a fee thats more then the tax.

I am not sure I understand. One pack of elites (6) could be used as 3 grenadiers and 3 voltigeurs.

2 packs of Fusiliers (12 figures) could be 4 companies of 3 figures.

Gives you room later to go to 36 if you like 1 figure to represent 20 humans!

My 36-figure French units are not formally based, and can represent 3 battalions of 12; 2 of 18; or 1 of 36.

The unit is 1:20. At Leipzig the regiment had only 330 soldiers.

I don't like 3 figure companies/bases 4 is minimum for me.

Do you want to stick with metal figures only?

I have toyed with the idea of using perry plastics.

We used to do British "battalions" in the Peninsula at 15 figures. 1 Grenadier or 2 on the right stand, 2 light company men, or 1, on the left stand, of 3 stands.

Our French were 18 figures, 2 front, 1 rear man on his own 17mm by 12 inch stand, do depict the 3 ranks of the French.

Worked for us, and again allowed us to combine 2 battalions to make 1 of 36 figures.

I just read my last post: 17mm across the front, but 1 inch (not 12 inch) front to rear stand for single figure.

And two British battalions of 15 would make one of 30 figures (we used 36 for the French).

Today I like to use 40 for the British – 10 companies of 4 figures each.

I think I've settled on perry plastics. I can get joseph napoleon regiment and a small battalion of legere out of it.

I had planes for the russians to.

So for a box of plastic russians and plastic french, pluss two command spures, I get 4 battalions for 60ish pounds.

Just keep spares in reserve for the next unit. Or buy units in batches, so if you only use four out of six figures in the pack, buy two packs and build three units.
