Hi The Black Hat miniatures website is still apparently invisible to most of the UK and parts of the Europe since Wed 24th. My hosting company cannot see a problem their end – it is visible to the USA. Could anyone in the UK possibly post a traceroute to blackhat.co.uk here? Especially if it doesn't work and you cannot see the website. It might help narrow the problem down. thanks Mike |

Thanks – I couldn't see it on BT Broadband while I was away on holiday and a customer in Norway can't see it either… Most frustrating…..and I would expect 10- 20 orders on a summer weekend. I've had 1….. |

I'd go into Hostgator's DNS management interface and add a test record. Maybe a cname test.blackhat.co.uk. Point that to your main a record. That will push a change to their DNS servers and if something is wrong with your zone file…it would "refresh" it. If other ISPs picked up a bad result trying to reach you last time it could take as long as 48 hours for them to query for a current record again. It sounds like Hostgator might have served up a bad DNS response recently. It could also be a break along the net as you were thinking. More traces would tell. Anyone know of any major backbones down in that region currently? I am only used to checking US based tools for such. |

Hi Problem is that ANY domain on the shared server doesn't work, not just blackhat or others such as fighting15s.co.uk. Which means it can't be the DNS record for my account and it has been nearly 2 weeks now… Also I can see the hostgator servers with IPs either side so it has to be very specific to the that one shared server but it works for some people…. So, in summary:
we resolve blackhat.co.uk to 108.167.140.20 but cannot reach with ping, trace or browser.
This is the same from DGC, with IP 62.181.228.34,
from Telenor with IP 94.234.170.38 and from 3 with IP
79.138.131.51. Hope this helps narrow it down. |
