Terrific wargamer blogsite -

obscurebattles.blogspot.com

Exquisitely done presentations of 19th C ACW and European horse and musket period battles from the wargamer's perspective.Search the expandable blog archive to locate specific battle essays of interest.

Well worth a visit – Two thumbs up from Blutarski.

Wow, that site IS great. Love the writing style too. Read about Crecy this morning. A great read. Highly recommended.

Great site. Misnamed though – Zorndorf and Crecy obscure?

I think he means obscure to the average person, not the average wargamer.

I love that site!

Gotta admit that I never heard of Zorndorf.

I think he means obscure to the average person, not the average wargamer.

The average person thinks that America defeated King Hitler of France at the Battle of Viet Nam in the American Civil War of Independence.

You mean that's not true!

Tim, just google Obscure Battles on your phone and it should pop right up.

Really appreciate all the nice things people have said about this blog. I do it to please myself, but it's nice to share and have it so enjoyed by others.

Jeff,

your blog is simply outstanding. The treatment you gave to Fred battles is better than any average Osprey, despite the limit of space. The battle maps are unique as well as the research you did on troops deployment.

It's really fantastic ! Thank you for all the work, I have immediately bookmarked your site.

Ditto Tango 2 3: if you scroll down completely, you see somewhere on the right "older blog". Click on that (and click, and click ;-)) and lots of battles, mostly SYW and Napoleonic, but for instance also Pickett's Charge, will jump up !

Great stuff! Your sand table dioramas are exquisite!
