Hey folks. I'm getting back into 18mm Ancients and unfortunately, my go-to company (Corvis Belli) have stopped making ancients. I ran across Forged In Battle ancients and was wondering what people thought. I knew this company primarily for WW2 stuff and was surprised to see that they have an extensive range of ancients. They look compatible with Xyston. Thanks, Mark

Interesting to see what others have to say

I have their Romans, Macedonians, and Greeks. They are some awesome miniatures. They fit in well with OG15s but I would be hesitant to mix them with the big boy Xystons

Justin, I'm glad to hear that they mix well with OG15s. I have a lot of OG and Essex … Along with some Corvus Belli. Mark

I have some Persians, very nice figures, but too short to mix with Xyston or 18mm

Any way to get them in the US other than direct order?

I got a Ptolemaic army with the kickstarter. They will mix well with ranges noted above but yeah not Xyston…

You can get them from Noble Knight in the USA. See this link: link

These are my go to range. They work just fine with corvus belli in terms of height etc, the big difference is in style of sculpting. Absolutely love these figures, highly recommended.

I bought some odds and ends, a few comparison shots here:

The small sample I purchased look very compatible with others, surprisingly so, as previous glimpses and comments had led me to believe they would be true 15's.

One can hope size wise they are consistent throughout their ranges.

Mark,

Thanks so much for that link to the Fanaticus Forum. The comparisons to Xyston, Essex, OG, etc. are very helpful. I guess I will go ahead and order some.

I have a large Republican Roman army and quite a few Gauls, I needed them to complete my Corvus Belli Gauls and the fit very well with them.

They are a great range of figures an paint up very well too.

Enjoy.

Onomarchos thanks! I've been trying to find these for a while over here!

No problem. I find that Noble Knight has a great selection of all types of miniatures … and usually at a discount.
