How long will it take for the Cons to start removing Confederate flags from games. Really, now we can't even watch The Dukes of Hazzard on TV Land because of the flag?

Seriously, you are concerned about this? If that was the case you would not see swastikas on WW II German models. This is a non-issue.

Is it a non-issue?
I don't think so.
It won't be the cons but pressure from the venues who will take the path of least resistance. "Look. It's just a few games."

OK, what about the gents across the pond? Does England choose to attempt to erase oh I don't know, the ECW? Are paintings or artifacts concerning Charles I hidden or removed because they are offensive to some? What if somebody displayed an American flag outside their flat tomorrow for example. How would that fly? No pun intended..

I had a dozen or so family members who served the south and I'm sure none owned slaves. Do I drive around in my pick-up boasting a large 3x5 "Rebel" flag? Absolutely not but I do own a Battle Flag and First National which hang in my "Man Cave" I would also like to know I have the right to display it outside on Confederate memorable dates in history as long as I followed flag displaying protocol should I choose.

Now swastikas on German vehicles, offensive? No! If Airfix or Zvezda made a campset such as Auschwitz available or Wargames Foundry produced a vignette of a runaway slave being whipped, would that be? Yes!

ECW v. ACW = Apples & Oranges.

Whether your relatives were slave holders or not is immaterial.

Who said you don't have the right to display the flag?

I recall when the NWS was organising a demo ame at a show in the 1990s (one of the large London ones, can't remember which one though) we were told that we couldn't have any games depicting fighting against Germany in WW1 or WW2 because of a restriction placed by the organisers. We ended up doing the Dardanelles. So we do have some (very limited) experience of event organisers "censoring" games here. That said this was the only example I can think of at the moment.

I thought last night about the reenactment here in NC at Fort Fisher and Bentonville. Let alone the huge ones like at Gettysburg. They are at national parks. Be interesting to see what happens there.

Probably depends on the location and community.
When I worked in London (ForestGate) around 15years ago we put an England flag up on the roof for St George's day .We had to take it down within two days as we were told it was causing offence .
The fella who had the flag took it home , he lives on the outskirts of greater London to the east. Since then he has put it up in his garden On the 23rd of April, with no untoward grief or discomfort cause to the locals.

The national parks service has said they will continue to display the flag as long as it is in appropriate historical context. Thus, games and books with the flag on the cover are safe (as are reenactors). Merchandise which only displays the flag without any reference to the Civil War will be removed.
