So I really like several of the figures from AB Figures, however, I noticed they have listed them as 18mm and not 15mm. I was wondering if this was by mistake or what. Has anyone purchased these figures before? Specifically, my current army is all Essex and I'd really like to buy some of their figures but not if they are going to be of noticeable size difference. Thanks! Here is a link to the site in case anyone was curious. abfigures.com

It is not a mistake, they are 18mm and much larger than Essex.

Bummer. Thanks for the reply. Saved me a costly mistake.

Hold on now, just mount them on thinner bases and it will be OK. I got a bunch of them from ebay and did just that and in seperate units with others from Donnington and Essex it looks OK.

They are seriously nice figures.

They are not only taller, but noticeably more anatomically correct. (slimmer) – they are lovely castings though.

They are the best Romans out there at this scale imo. I would just not mix them with other castings.

That is, the cavalry can mix with other ranges without problem.

Might just order one of the cavalry and see how it compares. Also, does anyone know about the quality and look if Museum Miniatures? They don't seem to have pictures of most of their Imperial Roman range. Thanks for the feedback.

I have a couple of cohorts of the AB Roman infantry as well as the cavalry- great figures. The rest of the legion is made up of Minifigs, Old Glory and Chariot. Look fine to me- you may want to try the "varying base thickness" trick. Definitely the best EIR "15mm" you can buy.
