Yeah, I haven't seen that many figures on a table since I was at one of Legion 1950s games! |

Sertorius!!!!Pompey was just a blowhard with an expensive hairdo.
Those are fighting words, Seņor Squint! Of course ultimately he lost so there are few to defend him….. |
Caliban | 03 Jul 2015 2:03 a.m. PST |
In defence of Pompey, I did paint a command stand for him; it will probably also do for Marius. I have an idea of one for Sulla and another for Sertorius, but I just haven't got around to those yet. Caesar is easy enough – loads of manufacturers have figures for him. Thanks for looking! |

First part of the report is now up. A taster:
More here: link Much hilarity ensued as Willie cheered every time a Roman bit the dust, even when it was one of his. This did not amuse Pompey very much. |

LEGION 1950 | 05 Jul 2015 2:05 p.m. PST |
Paul, great looking game!!!!!!!!!!!! Paul, are those Companion Romans with the large horse hair crests? Mike Adams |
Caliban | 06 Jul 2015 3:40 a.m. PST |
Hi Mike, well spotted – in fact, most of the Roman and Spanish figures on the table are by Companion Miniatures. |

Next batch of photos: link These aren't my usual, and so have come out rather differently, but they're still a lot better than nowt. There are more close shots of the units than I managed. I reckon it will take me two more posts to cover the rest of the action… |
LEGION 1950 | 06 Jul 2015 9:58 a.m. PST |
Paul, I figured that they were!!!! I wish that I did not sell the ones I had ( the Romans with crest ) Cheers Mike Adams |
mbsparta | 06 Jul 2015 11:39 a.m. PST |
What a spectacular game!!! Nothing better than a Caesarian Era Roman battle !!! Mike B |
Caliban | 06 Jul 2015 1:39 p.m. PST |
Thanks, Mike B. One of the reasons for playing it is to try out our rules for various levels of legion quality for use in our campaign. I liked the way it worked – brutal, but necessary… |
